Adriaan R. Rijkens

Born in Toronto, raised in The Netherlands is now a Business student living in Breukelen (next to Amsterdam). He believes that crossing boundaries is the key driver of society. The space project of Virgin was the main inspiration to set up the Givemeaspaceflight.com Foundation. He is the initiator of the foundation and therefore he will become the first sponsored student to go into space.  Adriaan Rijkens wants to go where no student has gone before: Space.

There are several people who made him believe such a daring campaign could be successful. Marjolijn her website givemeaneos.com made him enthusiastic about the effectiveness of such a website. Adriaan Rijkens has always been a big fan of Seth Godin who believes in idea spreading (he loves the movie about him which you can find on ted.com.) When Adriaan Rijkens read about the Virgin Galactic it was just a matter of, as Steve Jobs would say, connecting the dots. 

After the spaceflight Adriaan Rijkens will  join the board of the Givemeaspaceflight.com Foundation.
